Being somewhat Yakuza related I thought I would make a thread. Will be getting it pretty soon most likely after I'm done with Dead Souls.

I freakin' loved it. Just a very solidly-playing shooter with great aesthetics, cinematic style, and an excellent story. It's got a couple of cheesy moments here and there, but it still ended up as one of the best sci-fi narratives I've experienced in a game. Only problem is that the twists don't really kick in until about 2/3 of the way through. But the main one still strikes me as one of the most inventive I've ever seen in a story of this kind (and by "this kind", I mean stories that explore the line between man and machine; stuff like Ghost in the Shell, I, Robot, AI, Bicentennial Man, etc). And even despite the inventiveness of it, it still had me wondering why no one had thought to do this kind of story before (if they have, I haven't heard of it), which I think is the mark of a truly great twist; it feels completely natural and inevitable, while still managing to take you by surprise. I think you'll like it a lot. I'm actually glad that Nagoshi and his team took a year off from the Yakuza series for this little side-project. Worked out really well.
